Theme parks are a destination perfect for the whole family to enjoy. There are a number of fantastic theme parks in the Northeast region of the United States. Some of these great theme parks will be highlighted below.
Hershey Park

Hershey Park, located in Hershey, Pennsylvania, doubles as a theme park and chocolate factory. Home to the infamous Hershey’s candy bar, one who visits this theme park can tour the chocolate factory and then head over to the amusement park to enjoy roller coasters, water rides, games, great food and more. If you are in the Hershey area, definitely plan a trip to this one of a kind theme park.
Six Flags Great Adventure

Situated in Jackson, New Jersey, Six Flags Great Adventure is one of the larger theme parks in the area. This park has approximately 14 roller coasters, all which cater to varied ages of park goers. Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom

Located in Allentown, Pennsylvania, Dorney Park and Wildwater Kingdom has been a favorite of my family for years. Not only do they have fabulous rides, but every year they release another few rides that will scare the pants right off of you. Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom is a great family destination with something for everyone-even the little ones! There are 17 rides, 3 special waterpark areas, popular food items, special services and more just for kids. And best of all, children who stand under 48 inches in height qualify for a One-Day or Two-Day special Junior Admission rate. Children age two and younger are free on any public operating day throughout the season.
York’s Wild Kingdom

For those who live in the northern part of the northeast region of the U.S., York’s Wild Kingdom in York Beach, Maine is the place to go. This theme park offers a large zoo, amusement rides, paddleboats and a haunted house. As this is the largest theme park in Maine, it should definitely be a stop on the visitor list for those who are vacationing in the area.
Canobie Lake Park

Canobie Lake Park is located in Salem, New Hampshire and is perfect for families looking for a fun-filled day. Amusement rides, games, shows and educational programs along with great fair food make Canobie Lake Park a sure hit with all who visit this amusement wonderland.
Six Flags New England

Another great Six Flags theme park in the Northeast is Six Flags New England. This park is located in Agawam, Massachusetts which is close to Springfield, Massachusetts and Hartford, Connecticut. Those who visit Six Flags New England can ride the Dark Knight Coaster or one of the many other great roller coasters which call this park home. In addition to the famous roller coasters, park goers can enjoy adult rides, kid rides and water rides. Add in some great entertainment and delicious food and you will have all that one wants in a theme park.
Sesame Place

Sesame Place is located in a safe location near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Not only will your youngest kids enjoy Sesame Place, but your oldest kids will as well. There aren’t only Teeny Bopper rides here as you would expect, but there are also rides and fun activities for older kids to enjoy. My son who is almost ten years old, enjoys the roller coaster as well as the high ropes (which I also enjoy as well). There are even attractions for babies to enjoy … my baby girl loves it at Sesame Place. Sometimes the characters comes out and meet and greet your children. I love this park and so will you.
The Great Escape

For those who need a great escape, The Great Escape theme park is the answer. As part of Six Flags, this Queensbury, New York amusement park has everything which one could expect from a Six Flags park. Roller coasters, seated rides, water rides, entertainment and good food all are within reach at The Great Escape.

You forgot to mention Storyland in Glen, NH which is a fantastic park for children. It is very clean, well maintained and the staff are very friendly. They keep adding new rides/shows every year or two. We manage to visit there every year since my boys were little and they are now 10 and 16.
Storyland is the best, Santas village is also nearby in Jefferson NH. We have been going for 10 years now, and my kids can’ tget enough of the place.
